General Overview
What is the Philz Rewards Program?
Our rewards program is more than just points, it's our way of thanking our customers for being part of the Philz community. Built into the Philz app, the rewards experience gives you points for every purchase and unlocks personalized perks.
Do I need to sign up separately for the rewards program?
No. The rewards program is an enhancement to the app. Once you create an account in the app, you are eligible to earn points and redeem rewards. If you previously used the app, you will notice that this program is now available. However, for the best program experience, you can add your partial birthdate to your profile to receive a birthday reward and opt in to receive promotional messages.
How do I earn points?
Customers earn 10 points for every $1 spent. You can earn points by ordering through the app or by checking in with your unique store check-in code when ordering in-store at a participating location. Customers will earn points on all purchases of drinks, food, bulk coffee beans, tea, and merchandise. Customers will not earn points on purchases of gift cards, subscriptions, tax, 3rd party orders and orders on philzcoffee.com.
Can I earn points when ordering in-store?
Yes. You must check in with your four-digit store check-in code from the app before paying at the register. Your code will allow the cashier to find your account and attach it to the check. This will also allow the cashier to see any available rewards. Points can only be earned at a participating location.
I forgot my phone or can’t log in to my app. Can I provide my phone number to check in?
No. To check in, you must provide the store check-in code from the app. For purchases that did not earn points, you may send an email to Customer Support at [email protected] to ask for points to be added to your account. You should ask for a copy of your receipt to include in the email as proof of purchase.
Can I check-in at any location to earn points or redeem rewards?
Philz Rewards is available at participating locations only. Please note that Philz Coffee in San Jose (118 Paseo de San Antonio Walk) and the Philz Truck are not eligible for Philz Rewards points or redemptions.
Rewards & Redemption
How many points are needed for a reward?
Once you earn 1200 points, those points will be automatically converted into a Free Drink reward. This reward is valid for any drink of any size of your choice, you earned it! If multiple drinks are on the check, the highest value drink will be discounted.
Are there any rewards along the way?
Yes! We offer surprise & delight rewards, such as discounts or free items. Some of these offers will be given for short-term promotional reasons, while other offers will require customers to spend points to use them.
What do I receive when I first sign up?
New members receive 150 bonus points and a one-time Drink Upgrade (pay for a medium, enjoy a large). A large drink must be in your order to redeem the drink upgrade reward.
Is there a birthday reward?
Yes! In order to receive your Buy One, Get One Free Drink birthday reward, you will need to add your partial birthdate to your account profile (month/day) prior to your birthday. You cannot change your birthdate after it is added. Additionally, customers must have made at least one prior loyalty visit to qualify for a birthday reward.
Can I use multiple rewards at once?
No. Only one reward can be used per transaction.
Account & App Usage
Can I opt out of the rewards program?
The rewards program is part of the app experience and cannot be removed or separated. By ordering from the app, you will automatically earn points. However, you can choose not to redeem rewards. If you prefer, you can also opt out of marketing messages.
Do points expire?
Yes. Points will expire after 12 months of account inactivity (no purchases or redemptions).
Can I transfer points to another account? Can I merge two accounts?
No. Points are non-transferable and have no cash value.
How can I check my point balance?
Your points balance is visible in the Rewards section of the app at all times. This is a real-time status. You can also see your rewards activity and points earned for each transaction.
Is there any way to participate in Philz Rewards without downloading the app?
No. The only way to join and earn rewards is through the Philz mobile app.
Tech & Troubleshooting
I made a purchase, but didn’t receive points. What should I do?
You can contact the customer support team at [email protected] for assistance. If you have a receipt to include in your email, it will be easier for us to assist you in recovering points.
My reward didn’t apply at checkout. What should I do?
Rewards must be applied manually in the app before completing checkout. If you forgot to apply your reward, we encourage you to save the reward for a future visit. You can contact Customer Support at [email protected] if there was an error.
